Download Paper

Isabel Gallego is currently pursuing her PhD jointly at the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg and Syntegon Technology GmbH in Waiblingen, Germany. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering in 2018 at the EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia. During this period, she undertook a double degree program in Sustainable Energy Technology and Environmental Technology at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
In 2021, Isabel attained her Master's degree in Chemical and Energy Engineering from the Otto-von-Guericke-University, where she graduated with honours, recognized as the top graduate within the international study programs of the Faculty of Process and System Engineering.
In 2021, she started her PhD journey under the supervision of Prof. Martin Sommerfeld and Dr. Thomas Brinz. Her research in the field of chemical-pharmaceutical process engineering focuses on investigating the influence of material properties on the capsule filling process, specifically using a vacuum drum for DPI applications.
