Henk Versteeg is Senior Lecturer at Loughborough University, UK. He is a researcher and teacher in the field of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics and applications of computational fluid dynamics (CFD). His research interests are multidisciplinary applications of fluid mechanics including pharmaceutical engineering. Since the mid 1990’s he has worked on a series of collaborations in the field of pharmaceutical aerosols in partnership with ML Laboratories/InnovataBiomed, AstraZeneca plc, Kos Pharmaceuticals, Inc, Chiesi UK Ltd and Chiesi Farmaceutici, SpA, 3M UK Ltd/Kindeva Drug Delivery and EPAG. These studies have involved the application of advanced experimental and theoretical methods to study multiphase flow behaviour and aerosol formation processes with applications in inhaler device development. He has contributed to 100+ peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and conferences and is co-author of the widely-used CFD text “An Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics: the Finite Volume Method”.
Henk also regularly acts as consultant to industry on a variety of fluid engineering problems and is active in knowledge transfer activities including short courses and research partnerships.
