Toyosi Akande

Toyosi Akande

University of Hertfordshire

Toyosi Akande competed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Brighton, and a master’s degree in biomedical research at Imperial College London. During this time, I developed an interest in the bioreactivity of inhaled particles on lung alveolar cells. Toyosi joined the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Science, where she is carrying out her PhD at the University of Hertfordshire in collaboration with University College London. Under supervision of Dr Laura Urbano, Dr Michael Cook and Professor Darragh Murnane, Toyosi’s PhD focuses on exploring dry water formulations for drug delivery of biologics such as proteins, whole cells, and RNA in nasal delivery.
