Ramy Said-Elbahr

Ramy Said-Elbahr is currently a PhD researcher at the school of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham, UK. He had his Bachelor degree in pharmaceutical sciences from his home institution, the faculty of Pharmacy, Ain Shams University in Egypt. He then got his Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences (Drug Technology speciality) from his home institution in collaboration with the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK. He has performed as a teaching assistant in his home institution and then got promoted to an assistant lecturer position. He was granted a Short-Term Fellowship (STF) funded project by the Science, Technology and Development Fund (STDF) in Egypt to support his Master’s research in which he acted as the Principle Investigator (PI) of the project. His research is mainly focused on development of nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems to be administered through inhalation route for targeted treatment of various lung diseases. He published two articles about the nebulization of naringin/celecoxib co-loaded PLGA polymeric nanoparticles and O/W nanoemulsion formulations for targeted therapy of lung cancer. Currently, he is working on developing novel biodegradable polymers that can offer additional advantages over traditional polymers for pulmonary delivery of their nanoparticle formulations.
