Paper: The match between adhesive mixture formulation and device.
Kyrre Thalberg is Chemical Engineer and holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Lund University, 1990. For almost 30 years thereafter, Kyrre worked with Astra and AstraZeneca in the field of inhaled medicines, first at Draco in Lund, thereafter at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, and has provided key contributions to a range of successful AstraZeneca inhalation products, in particular the Turbuhaler® product range.
Currently, Kyrre is working as senior adviser at Emmace Consulting AB, Lund, and as adjunct professor at the department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition, Lund University, Lund. Kyrre’s expertise covers fundamental science as well as early and late-stage development work with a focus on dry powders for inhalation. Current research is focused on particle characterization and the effects of mixing on dry powder formulation performance. Kyrre is furthermore involved in modeling and simulation of DPI systems, and has contributed to the inhalation area with new concepts and ideas, such as the ‘total fines’, the ‘Cohesive energy’ and the ‘Mixing energy’ concepts. Kyrre has authored or co-authored more than 50 scientific papers.
