CIDETEC Nanomedicine

Paper: KuDa-tob: an Inhaled tobramycin formulation to improve treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa chronic lung infections for cystic fibrosis patients

Download Paper

Julie Movellan's research focuses on developing biomaterials for biomedical applications with an emphasis on designing polymers and nanoparticles for drug delivery. She obtained her PhD at the University of Zaragoza, working on the use of polyester dendrimers in applications such as gene therapy, medical imaging, and drug delivery to treat malaria. In 2013, she joined the Therapeutic Polymers group of Dr María J. Vicent in Valencia as a postdoctoral researcher, where she worked on drug delivery for the treatment of prostate cancer using polypeptide and polyacetal polymers. In 2016, she completed a second postdoc at Polymat (University of the Basque Country), in the polymer engineering group of Prof. Asua, where she contributed to the development of emulsions of polymer nanoparticles based on natural products. Finally, in 2017 she joined the Biomaterials Unit of CIDETEC Nanomedicine. Her research focuses on the development of inhalation formulations to improve the delivery of antimicrobials to the lungs.
