Isabel Gallego is currently a PhD student at the Otto-von-Guericke-University of Magdeburg and at Syntegon Technology GmbH in Waiblingen, Germany. She completed her bachelor’s degree in 2018 in Process Engineering at the EAFIT University in Medellin, Colombia, with a double degree in Sustainable Energy Technology and Environmental Technology in the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, Germany. In 2021 she completed her master’s degree in Chemical and Energy Engineering at the Otto-von-Guericke-University, graduating with honors for being the best graduate in the international study programs of the faculty of Process and System Engineering.
In 2021 she started her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Martin Sommerfeld and Dr. Thomas Brinz. The PhD project is in the field of chemical-pharmaceutical process engineering and her research focuses on investigating the influence of material properties on the capsule filling process using a vacuum drum for DPI applications.
