Daniela Traini is a Professor in Respiratory Science at Macquarie University and The Woolcock Institute of Medical Research (Australia) and is an international leader in aerosol drug delivery. She is currently an NHMRC Investigator and has previously been awarded an ARC Future Fellowship. After obtaining a PhD at the University of Bath (UK) and over the last 20 years in academia and industry, she had developed a leading research program on aerosol drug delivery, from powder engineering, aerosol generation and characterisation and in vitro to in vivo lung deposition and correlations. Prof Traini has extensive experience in both academic and industrial pharmaceutics and still retains a strong link with the pharmaceutical industry. Since 2005 she has published over 300 full peer-reviewed manuscripts, has 5 patents, and has attracted more than $18 Million in competitive funding.
