Paper: The Application of Thermofluid Mechanic Modelling to the Development of Novel pMDI Devices

Download Paper

I’m currently working on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Recipharm, the University of Hertfordshire and the University of East London with a view to significantly reducing the development time for new pressurised metered dose inhalers (pMDIs) by the application of statistical and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques. I obtained a BEng (with honours) in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh) in 2010, followed by an MSc in Chemistry in 2012 (also from Heriot-Watt). I completed my PhD in turbulent premixed combustion, with the use of advanced laser diagnostics, from the University of Leeds in 2018. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to present my work on several occasions during my PhD, at events organised by my industrial sponsor (Shell) and at the Spring meeting of the Combustion Institute in 2018. I’ve enjoyed attending DDL over the previous two years since starting my KTP project and presented a poster in 2019.
