Paper: The Development of an Inhalable Platelet-Based Therapy for Lung Injury

Download Paper Download Presentation PDF

Anna Kelis is a third-year PhD student at King’s College London, where she is investigating the immunomodulatory role of platelets in lung regeneration and healing. Her research explores the inflammatory and regenerative properties of platelets as immune cells, with a particular focus on their delivery to the lung. She began her doctoral studies in 2022 after graduating with first-class honours from King’s College London, earning an MSci in Pharmacology with a Professional Placement Year.
In addition to her research, Anna is actively involved in academic and postgraduate communities. She currently serves as a postgraduate representative for students at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science. Anna has organised many Symposiums for both the MRC DTP and Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, as well as student seminars and social events throughout the years.
Anna has presented her work at several conferences and was awarded Best Poster (verbal presentation) at the 2024 MRC DTP Symposium. She also won first place in the Image Competition at the 2023 MRC Joint DTP Symposium. Sociable and driven, Anna is passionate about both her scientific work and building collaborative research communities.
