Johanna Fredriksson is a Global Graduate Associate in Pharmaceutical & Technical Development at AstraZeneca, Gothenburg, Sweden. She joined AstraZeneca in September 2021 as a data analyst in the Inhalation Product Development Unit. In this role, she worked on developing and optimising algorithms in projects combining Acoustic Emission and Artificial Intelligence for automated device quality attribute assessments. This work is a continuation of earlier work introducing Acoustic Emission based technologies in formulation and device development programs, which has previously been presented by Dr. Lars Karlsson in both posters and podium presentations at DDL. Johannas' work has focused on developing new modeling approaches, and broadening the application of acoustic emission into a tool relevant to patient usages, such as clogging detection and adherence monitoring.

Before joining AstraZeneca, Johanna gained an MEng in Biotechnology from Chalmers University of Technology. While still supporting several acoustic emission projects, Johanna has moved into a new exciting role at AstraZeneca, currently working as a formulation scientist in the Advance Drug Delivery Team.
