Alan McKiernan is research manager at Prior PLM Medical. He obtained his Ph.D. in experimental physics from Dublin City University, Ireland using imaging and spectroscopic techniques to study pulsed laser deposition of semiconductor materials. He then worked for Andor Technology in Belfast and the National Centre for Laser Applications in Galway, before joining Creganna Medical where he developed bespoke laser systems for catheter/stent development.
Alan joined Prior PLM Medical almost ten years ago, where he is involved in both internal and customer projects. He is predominantly focussed on drug delivery devices, particularly respiratory and is interested in the application of physics, imaging, coding and electronics to inhaler development.
