Susan Leung graduated from the University of Bristol, England, with a B.Sc. Degree in Pharmacology. She returned to Hong Kong and took a Ph.D. Degree in Pharmacology at the University of Hong Kong. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Croucher Foundation Fellowship for a postdoctoral training at Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She then returned to the University of Hong Kong for further postdoctoral training. She was Research Assistant Professor and then Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. She is now Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy.
Her research has mainly focused on examining the vascular tone regulatory signalings under physiological and pathological conditions, and study the effects of different pharmacological agents on vascular responses. She is also interested in the vascular studies on gonadal hormones and natural estrogen-related compounds, flavonoids. She has published more than 60 original articles, including those in Cardiovascular Research and British Journal of Pharmacology.
She is one of the founding members of the Asian Society for Vascular Biology. Currently, she is one of the members of the Executive Committee of Hong Kong Pharmacology Society. She also serves as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Cardiovascular Science and Medicine.
