I am currently a Principal Scientist at Nanopharm Ltd, An Aptar Pharma Company (UK). I hold a MSc. in chemistry from the Faculty of Science in the University of Porto, Portugal, where I studied the phase behaviour and heat capacities of a series of ionic liquids. This work was a result of a collaboration between Porto’s Faculty of Science and University of Chemical Technology in Prague, Czech Republic. Later, this lead me to do my PhD in the University of Chemical Technology in Prague where I studied the intermolecular interactions of ionic liquids and alkanols. I was granted an European funding from CM1206 - EXIL - Exchange on Ionic Liquids which resulted in a series of studies concerning the solubility of Ionic Liquids in alcohols performed at the University of Bremen, Germany.
Following this, in 2018 I took an internship at Nanopharm where I started my journey in API characterization and product development. During this time I conducted in vitro characterisation of inhalatory pharmaceutical products.
I have presented work on physical chemistry studies at multiple international conferences and published 7 peer reviewed research articles.
