Mikael Brülls, PhD, is a Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca R&D in Gothenburg, Sweden, and works within the Pharmaceutical Science department with a scientific responsibility for early formulation development up to phase 2b. Dr. Brülls has a MSc as well as a PhD in Chemical Engineering and is a drug delivery scientist with more than 25 years of experience and expertise in intravenous and pulmonary drug delivery. He has experience as a manager of a team of formulators as well as from technical management of commercial parenteral products as a Technical Steward. In the last decade his scientific interest has been dedicated to pulmonary drug delivery in preclinical and early clinical development utilizing aqueous based aerosols.
