Paper: Nasal powder delivery – characterisation of the influence of excipients on drug absorption
Marie Trenkel is a pharmacist and Ph.D. student at Kiel University. She studied pharmacy in Kiel from 2013 to 2017. After completing her studies, she spent 6 months of her pre-registration training at Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany in the Department of Research and Development, where she gained first experiences in the pharmaceutical industry. After her registration as a pharmacist in 2018, she joined the research group of Prof. Regina Scherließ at the Department of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics at Kiel University. In her project, she is working on nasal powder formulations and investigating different influences of excipients in the nose. Her research interests include the investigation of occurring sensory effects and the characterisation of the influence of excipients on systemic drug absorption. Besides her research activities, she is involved in the education of pharmacy students at Kiel University.
