Gonçalo Farias

Paper: Investigating the Impact of Device Positioning on the Nasal Regional Deposition

Gonçalo Farias is currently working as a Laboratory Manager for Nasal and Innovation Services at Aptar Pharma (France). He holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lisbon, Portugal (2014), and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy & Pharmacology from the University of Bath, UK (2021). During his PhD, he focused on the investigation of formulation design and structure of orally inhaled and nasal pharmaceutical formulation systems, where he worked on a couple of FDA funded programmes focused on the application of techniques such as morphologically-directed Raman spectroscopy and dissolution to these products. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Gonçalo Farias worked at Nanopharm Ltd, an Aptar Pharma Company (UK), as Head of Pharmaceutical Development and joined Aptar Pharma (France) in 2021 to support the analytical development, innovation and nasal device development studies. He is also a member of the Biopharmaceutics Technical Committee (PQRI).
