Faustine is currently doing a Ph.D. in collaboration between the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Hygiene (under the supervision of Prof. Véronique Fontaine) and the Laboratory of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics (under the supervision of Prof. Nathalie Wauthoz) in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université Libre Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium.
Faustine holds a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, France. During her studies at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Lyon, she was awarded the best “curriculum abroad” (Louis Revol Prize) in 2018 for having done different internships abroad during her studies. The latest internship she did was about studying the impact of Mycobacterium smegmatis and Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis on the expression and regulation of lncRNA MEG3 in human macrophages at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (in 2017).
After graduation, Faustine started in 2018 a research and teaching fellows at the ULB as Ph.D. candidate. The aim of her research project is to study the feasibility of developing a promising anti-tuberculosis drug combination delivered by dry powder inhaler. This work is based on 4 parts: antimycobacterial activity study, local tolerance assay, dry powder formulation development and efficacy evaluation.
