Dr Wenwen Xu

Dr Wenwen Xu

Wenwen Xu is a postdoctoral researcher at Shenzhen Polytechnic University. She received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in 2026, where she focused on pulmonary delivery of bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) for lung cancer immunotherapy. Her current research centers on screening lung-adaptive OMVs and engineering drug-loaded delivery systems for inhaled therapy of pulmonary diseases.
Her research interests span particle engineering, formulation characterization and optimization, as well as physicochemical and biological evaluation of novel pulmonary and intravenous formulations. Her first-authored and co-first-authored publications in Journal of Controlled Release and Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B focus on OMV-based in situ vaccines and pulmonary delivery vaccine.
Dr. Xu was the recipient of the Excellent Oral Presentation Award at the 2025 International Conference of the Inhalation Drug Delivery Association. Her work integrates advanced formulation technologies with immunological evaluation to develop inhalable therapeutics, aiming to translate innovative nanomedicines from bench to bedside for the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
