Debanjan (Deb) is a pharmaceutical scientist with over 17 years of experience in drug delivery and product development. He has led the research of more than 40 commercial products in the U.S., spanning small molecules and biologics, from preclinical stages to market launch. In his career, Deb has contributed to the development of novel delivery systems, including nanoemulsions for needle-free delivery, gastro-retentive formulations, polymeric nanoparticles for CNS targeting and co-developed first human blood-brain barrier cell line (hCMEC/D3) for in vitro permeation studies. Deb holds over 10 patents and his work bridges academic insight with industrial translation, driving real-world impact in pharmaceutical innovation. His is very passionate about solving a critical unmet need in the pharmaceutical industry - brain drug targeting through non-invasive routes. Educationally, Deb has two Masters of Science degrees, in Industrial Pharmacy (Purdue University, US) and in Drug Delivery (St. John’s University, US). While working as a Senior Associate Director and Fellow at Bayer Healthcare’s Global R&D, he is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in nanomedicine with the supervision of Dr. Lalatsa, School of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, UK. His doctoral research focuses on developing a platform technology for brain-targeting via intranasal route.
