Paper: Evaluation of Performance of Dry Powder Inhaler Formulations by Laser Diffraction

Dr Luis Sousa is a Senior Analytical Chemist in the R&D Analytical Development area, at Hovione, and his current job functions include developing analytical methods for the physical characterization of drugs and drug products, as well as implementing new formulation screening tools and analytical methodologies. He is a pharmacist by training and holds a PhD in Thermal Analysis and Pharmaceutics from the UCL School of Pharmacy, London, UK. After his PhD, Dr. Sousa did a two-year post-doc at Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA, in the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy. His post-doc focused on the fundamentals of solubility and crystallization from amorphous solid dosage forms. In 2015, Dr. Sousa joined Hovione’s R&D department.”
