Paper: Controlling Droplet Size and Spray Duration in Soft Mist Inhalers

Download Paper

Ben De Clercq is currently working as an engineer at the Respiratory Innovation Centre of invoX in Belgium. His current research focusses on the physical aspects of Soft Mist Inhalers (SMI). His aim is to develop a good understanding of the involved microfluidics and droplet formation. Being interested in technology applied to healthcare, Ben started studying Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology and did a Ph.D. in Biophysics at the Biomedical Research Institute of Hasselt University. His Ph.D.-project focussed on distinguishing different models of diffusion of proteins in a cell membrane by means of fluorescence microscopy. After several years in the test centre of an automotive company, he joined invoX in 2023.
