Dr. Aviva Chow is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a PhD in Pharmacy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining HKU,
Dr. Chow gained industry experience as a Technical Lead at a listed pharmaceutical company in Hong Kong. He currently also serves as Project Leader at the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre, which has been established under the Hong Kong Government’s InnoHK initiative to promote Innovation and Technology. His research mainly focuses on developing advanced oral and nasal inhalation drug delivery systems. He has published 52 peer-reviewed articles in leading pharmaceutical journals and has secured external research funding exceeding HKD 15 million as Principal Investigator and Project Leader. Dr. Chow’s research has received several international recognitions, including Silver Medals at the Geneva International Inventions Exhibition, Gold Medal and Jury’s Choice Awards at the Canada Innovation Competition, and the Platinum Medal at PRIX EIFFEL. Recently, he founded Inhalixir Limited, a startup dedicated to respiratory wellness through innovative inhaled supplements, aiming to translate his research into impactful real-world solutions.
