Dr Peter Harley

Dr Peter Harley

Crux Product Design Ltd.

Dr Peter Harley MEng PhD FIMechE is the Head of Technology at Crux Product Design. He leads a multidisciplinary team of experts focused on applied sciences & simulation and works broadly across device and packaging development programs in the inhaled and parenteral drug delivery space.
Peter has been leading in the pharma sector for the last 5 years, as well as supporting medical device programs in the neurovascular and diagnostics space. His background as a mechanical engineer has previously spanned consumer electronics and automotive where he earned his PhD.
His current interests focus on porting advanced analysis capabilities across from other sectors to accelerate drug-device-packaging development timelines. Key areas of interest are deploying physics-based solvers in device development programs and device-tissue interactions to create digital twins, and utilising surrogate modelling to democratise expert-driven simulation workflows.
Peter currently chairs the NAFEMS simulation Working Group on Medical Devices and Life Sciences with an aim to provide a framework to support broader simulation adoption in the medical sector.
