Download PaperAkash Bijlani is currently the Director of Global Market Access at Aptar Digital Health. My main mission is to expand digital therapeutic (DTx) patient access globally. In my current role, I am responsible for: i) determining evidence gaps (clinical, economic, and operational), implementing plans to fill these gaps, and to support market access; ii) aligning with global health technology assessment (HTA) organizations, key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinicians, pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical partners, specialty societies, and DTx organizations to create new pathways for DTx patient access globally; iii) working with our in-country partners to obtain DTx coding, coverage, and payment approval to drive adoption of digital products; iv) expanding DTx globally to include disease management.
I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) in International Health and Development from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology from the University of Chicago. Prior to joining Aptar, I was CEO and Founder of my own global health economics and market access consultancy, Strategy Access Solutions, for seven years. In this role, I worked with digital health, artificial intelligence, lab and diagnostic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies to develop evidence, models, and dossiers, and then utilized these to facilitate global market access. Prior to this role, I worked at two medical device companies where I was responsible for global health economics and market access. In previous roles, I was a hospital administrator at three US academic medical centers.
