Summer Event – New Researcher Network
Date: 11 – 13 September 2024
The New Researcher Network Summer Event is an opportunity for academic PhD students and Post Doctoral Reseachers to gain an interesting insight into research and development within the pharmaceutical industry. The NRN committee has put together an exciting programme with help from DDL and our industrial partner Viatris.
Programme
On the day of arrival, participants will meet at King’s College London and be welcomed by NRN committee member Lucy Goodacre. This will be followed by exciting talks by two individuals within industry/academia (to be confirmed).
Travel is arranged from King’s College London to Discovery Park (Sandwich), by coach.
Viatris will provide insights into the journey of a drug from bench to market with a case study of a product developed at the Sandwich site, including a site tour.
Leading scientists will present their roles in the profession, followed by an external expert who will provide an in-depth insight into the topic of biologics.
Evening event: Sandwich tour & Networking Dinner Academy (NDA).
Event conclusion and departure from Sandwich.
Travel is arranged from Sandwich back to London and participants will continue their onward journey home.
Applications
Academic PhD students and Post Docs in the field of orally inhaled and nasal drug products can apply. 25 participants will be selected based on a motivational letter. The applications will open on 10 January 2024. The deadline for application is 28 February 2024. You can find the registration form below.
Costs
The Summer Event is free to attend.
Food, accommodation, and travel will be covered.
