Paper: Development of Inhalable Powder Formulation of Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Agent for Respiratory Viral Infections
Qiuying Liao is currently a final year PhD student in Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). From 2013 to 2017, Qiuying studied Bachelor of Science, with Major in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University, China. In the summer of 2016, she was awarded the SYSU exchange scholarship to the School of Pharmacy, The University of Pittsburgh. After her undergraduate study, Qiuying joined Dr. Jenny Lam’s research laboratory in HKU as postgraduate student. Her research interest focuses on the development of inhalable dry powder formulations for antimicrobial agents.
In the course of her PhD candidature, Qiuying was awarded the Simon Wong Pharm Manufacturing Industrial Scholarship. In 2020, she was awarded the champion for HKU Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) Competition on her research project, and represented HKU to participate in the 2020 International VYT Competition. Qiuying has published six scientific papers (with two papers as first author) in peer-review journals such as the International Journal of Pharmaceutics, Journal of Controlled Release. She has presented posters in DDL 2018 and 2019, and this will be her third participation and the first oral presentation in DDL Conference 2020.
