Jorge Pontes

PhD student, Universidade do Algarve & Universidade Nova de Lisboa

Paper: Fucoidan-coated lipid nanocapsules encapsulating a model drug for lung drug delivery

Jorge Filipe Pontes is a PhD student in the PhD Programme in Mecanisms of Disease and Regenerative Medicine, a consortium between Universidade do Algarve and Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2016, Jorge concluded the degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and one year later, he started a 6-month research internship in Lyon (France), where he studied nanoemulsions. In 2018, Jorge started his PhD project, which focuses mainly on dry powders development and evaluation, in the Drug Delivery Laboratory, at Universidade do Algarve. He contributed as an author in 3 published papers, and this is his second time in the DDL Conference.
