Dr. Sumit Arora is a Senior Research Scientist (Virtual Bioequivalence) in the modelling and simulation group at Certara Simcyp. He is involved in the implementation of new features with regard to oral, dermal and inhalation PBPK models in Simcyp. He has handled projects investigating the biopharmaceutics characteristics of oral, dermal and inhalation products and combining the knowledge generated from in vitro experiments with the advanced physiology based pharmacokinetic models to identify key attributes driving performance of the products. He received his PhD from National Institute of Pharmaceutics Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar, India in the field of inhalation drug delivery for high dose compounds and was recipient of Endeavor Research Fellowship at University of Sydney and DAAD Scholar at Max Planck Institute of Polymer Research. He was also the recipient of Pat Burnell Award for the year 2015. Prior to joining Simcyp, he was leading the biopharmaceutics group at Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE), GmBH, Graz, Austria. Dr. Arora has co-authored more than 10 papers in high impact, peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at several national and international conferences.
