Call for Papers is now open
Submission Deadline is Friday 14th July 2023 (at 24:00 BST)
DDL2023 will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (the EICC), with three days of live lectures including internationally renowned speakers, presentations from submitted research, the prestigious Pat Burnell Young Investigator Award together with the Emerging Scientist Award.
This is your opportunity to share your new and exciting work within the field of pulmonary drug delivery.
The organising Committee would like to invite you to submit a 2 – 4 page conference paper for presentation at the meeting this year.
Selected conference papers will be invited to present either a Podium presentation or a Poster Presentation, in person at the EICC, Edinburgh.
As always, we welcome papers on all aspects of developing and testing inhaled drug products, with special focus on innovations in formulation strategy, analytical methodology and delivery devices.
We are also keen to receive papers that address the following themes that we hope to include in the conference programme:
Lung Health
Preventing, diagnosing and treating lung disease throughout life. Perspectives from patients, healthcare professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. New treatments, innovative diagnostics, immuno-physiological insights into lung disease and patient centred clinical outcomes.
Emerging Therapeutics
New opportunities for aerosol medicine based on transformative pharmaceutical technologies and the development of biologic drugs and advanced therapies. Insights into formulation design and clinical development of new modalities, including nucleic acid and cell therapies.
Digital Technologies
Computing platforms (health informatics), connectivity, software, and sensors with applications in the design and use of medical devices and inhaled medicines.
Novel Formulations and Process Technology
New concepts in formulation science and the fabrication of aerosol medicines. A focus on novel tools, device components, new process technology and manufacturing methods.

How to submit your paper:
To participate, please submit your conference paper following the guidelines and using the DDL2023 Conference Paper template which you can download below.
When submitting your Conference Paper please:
- Review the essential Guidelines for the DDL2023 conference paper submission process
- Download the ESSENTIAL DDL2023 Conference Paper Template and populate with your paper
- Save your document in Word, using the guidelines to check you have completed the document fully and correctly
- Click Submission Page button below
- Complete the form on the next page, uploading your Conference Paper
- Conference Papers will be reviewed by our scientific review panel and all authors will be notified of the review outcome by Friday 22nd September
